Sure Run

Viewers are programs that allow a user to open a document. For a document of type *.doc (Word Document) the viewer is Microsoft Word.
If you put a document of any type on a CD and deliver it to your end user you need to be sure that the end user has the Viewer needed to view your document.
Sure Run will ensure that your end user will be able to run your AutoRun without any documents failing to open or print.
The file type of a file is specified by the file name extension (the part of the file name that appears to the right of the final period in the file name).

SURE RUN
1.     When you add a document of any type to be launched or printed when the AutoRun is implemented AutoRun Architect will assist you to create a complete CD.
2.     The first thing AutoRun Architect will do is to check if the file format you are launching is a common Microsoft Windows file format such as *.txt (Text Document) or *.jpg (JPEG image file). If it is then you AutoRun Architect does not do anything as we can be secure in the knowledge that the document will be viewable on all the end-users computers.
3.     If the file type is not a common Microsoft Windows file format then the list of known Viewers will be examined to see if you already have a defined viewer for the file type. If you do have a defined viewer then the installation of that viewer is added to your AutoRun with the condition that the install should only be run if the end user does not have a viewer for the file type already installed.
4.     If you do not already have a defined viewer for the file type then AutoRun Architect can check the AutoRun Architect On-Line Database for a known viewer. There are three possible responses from the on-line database:
·      Viewer is able from Database: There is a viewer available for the file type that can be downloaded and used immediately. The viewer files will be downloaded. Once the download is complete an installation step will automatically added to the AutoRun sequence with the condition that the install should only be run if the end user does not have a viewer for the file type already installed. In addition, the viewer will be added to the list of known viewers for future projects.
·      Viewer is available from 3rd Party Site: There is a viewer available for the file type but it needs to be downloaded from a 3rd Party Site. Typically the user will given a link to a web site to download the viewer. Once you have downloaded the viewer you can add it to the list of known viewers and add an installation step.
·      No viewer available: There are not any viewers listed for the specified file type

Please Note: Some viewers require that the producer of the CD get a Redistribution License before distributing CDs that include their software. It is the responsibility of the user to obtain any licenses that may be required. AutoRun Architect's assistance in acquiring the 3rd party viewers in no way is meant to give any permission to the user to redistribute the software.
