Install Software

The AutoRun can initiate installations of software. The software may be needed to open a document you are delivering or may be software you want to install the user's computer. The installation can be set only to run when needed or you can allow the user to skip the installation.

To install software:
1.     Press the Browse button and select the installation file for the software.
2.     Set any desired options for the installation.

Description
Parameters
Enter any additional command line parameters to be passed to the installation executable when it is executed.
Wait for installation to complete before continuing
Select this check box if you want the AutoRun to wait until this Install finishes before going onto the next step in the AutoRun. Clear this check box if you want the AutoRun to continue on to the next step immediately after starting this Install.
When to run:
Define under what circumstances the installation file should be run.          
·    First time only
Select this radio button if you want to run the installation only the first time the CD is inserted in each computer.
·     Always
Select this radio button if you want to run the installation every time the CD is inserted in the computer.
·    Based on associated viewer for file type
Select this check box if you want to run the installation based on the associated viewer for the selected file type.
1.   Select or enter the file type
2.   Select one of the file type based options:
·      If no viewer exists for the file type: if you want to install the software only if the user does not have any installed programs that are registered to handle the selected file type.
·      If viewer version is less than: if you want to install the software if the user does not have any installed programs that are registered to handle the selected file type or if the version for the installed program is less than the specified version number.
Prompt
Select this check box if you want to display a dialog box for the end user to warn the user that you are about to install software on their computer. The dialog box will only be displayed if the software installation is about to be run based on the settings above.
Message Text
The message text that will be displayed in the prompt dialog.
Allow user to skip the installation
Select this check box if you want to give the user the option of skipping the installation of the software and continuing with the installation. If you select this option a button with the text "Skip" will displayed in the Prompt dialog.
